Bachelor thesis

In mid june i will present my bachelor thesis to my the academics who will assess my work. I will write in English, partly because my co-writer is German and partly because i like writing in this language and thus appreciate the linguistic exercise. So if i get the time to share some thoughts generated from this work via this blog the language will be English.

The bachelor thesis in geography at the University of Bergen (UiB) differs in some respects form the ones of other disciplines. It is not usual (at least not recommended) to obtain and use empirics for work at this (low) level, the standard UiB bachelor thesis is a text study. The institute for Geography takes the whole graduating class for field work. Usually there are two field courses, one for physical and environmental geography and one for human and economic geography. I am in the former and we are going to Iceland the 22nd this month!

Me and my co-writer will examine a (yet to be defined) problem relating to erosion/land degradation in south west Iceland. I will definitively expose a large number of frames with my camera, the best of which will be posted in my flickr or on foto.no.
